Bio

Dr. Christopher Irwin, a General Practitioner and clinic owner in Melbourne, is attuned to the needs and ambitions of Australian healthcare providers and their patients. He deeply understands the needs, challenges, and aspirations of Australian general practitioners and their patients.

His medical school journey, completed in 2006, was recognised with multiple awards for his outstanding academic performance, including the Marjorie McCallum Medal in Medicine and the Stanley Wilson Prize in Surgery. Additionally, he was awarded runner-up for the JAD Iverach Prize in Clinical Medicine and earned the Dean’s commendation, an accolade given for his overall academic excellence.

He further pursued a master’s degree in Skin Cancer from the University of Queensland and became a fellow of the RACGP in 2014. By 2015, he opened his first practice and now operates two general practices with a special focus on skin cancer.

Previously, Dr. Irwin ran for the presidency of The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) in 2022, garnering the highest number of votes for a single candidate. Dr. Irwin’s commitment to the cause of general practitioners is unwavering, as demonstrated by his active involvement in lobbying and advocacy.
